I just met Kristina Horner.

Like four hours ago, seriously.

Photo graphic evidence:

I went to the Triple Rainbow show in Boston which was at the awesomely convent time of 3 in the afternoon. I met a new person, and now we are twitter friends :) It was exciting.

ANYWAY the show WAS AWESOME. My camera died right before ALL CAPS came on but, you know, that's my life. I did record some Jason Munday, Mike Lombardo and Alex Carpenter  and most of Snape vs. Snape I think so we do get some Luke and Kristina. I haven't uploaded it to the computer yet, just one Jason Munday song which will be posted HERE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnHijCyToJk NOTE: when you click on this the girl sitting next to me FLIPPED OUT and is SCREAMING, so adjust the volume on your computer accordingly or you won't have ear drums. JS.

I'll be posting more when I have time, which means Tuesday.

FAVORITE quotes: Mike: At the merch table we even have Jason Munday light up swords.
Everyone else on the tour: LIGHT SABERS!!!!!!!!

Man: So you guys know the band?
People waiting for the concert: We like to think we do.

AND THAT IS THE END OF THE STORY
today is awesome... hmm... let me think... today is awesome because I met one of the people that got me to write why today is awesome at the end of my blogs. AND Luke is far too attractive seriously

Oh, wow, I need some excitement.

Today was, as I guess anyone who has read more than one post this month can imagine, a rather boring and non-eventful day. It involved looking for Strawberry Hill Wine because my brother wanted it, and my mother getting annoyed that I think Strawberry Hill Wine is "funny." It's not funny, it's just I know my brother doesn't read and therefore doesn't understand Strawberry Hill's effect on popular culture, and neither of them know what a Nerdfighter is.

My Mother's car is broken, so I now either have to go everywhere with her, or let her drive my car, and seeing how she isn't going to put gas in my car either way I might as well go. She gets highly annoyed with my taste in music and likes to change my station or switch CD's and not change them back which is, rude? annoying? something anyway. I always change it back, it's just the right thing to do. I feel it's in the best interest of my sanity when I turn my car on to make sure nothing happens, and the Bonnie Gruesen/ Hermione Granger sings "Coolest Bitch on Earth God Damn it" every time I turn on my car, you know, strictly for self esteem purposes.

Anyways, I am currently listening exclusively to Team StarKid music in my car, I have manged to sneak some music not written by Darren Criss into the rest of my life. It's a slow process, but I did miss Pete Townsend and Scar from the Lion King (don't judge, Be Prepared is the #1 song on my Ipod, even after listening to the StarKid album for almost 3 week straight). As we get to the store the Cho Chang song plays and my mother says "This song is stupid Skinny doesn't even come close to rhyming with Cho Chang." Yes, mother, that is, in fact, the whole point of the song.

I know I listen to ridiculous music, I don't need you to tell me that it's stupid because you don't see the point. Don't make me explain the Harry Potter Musical to you AGAIN. Just shhh, I don't complain about whatever stupid music you play when you're driving.

Have I ever mentioned I hate living here? Yes? Okay, just checking.

In other things, Thank you Rachel and Hannah for your comments on yesterday posts. :) *Interwebz Hugz* It really does help my lack of self everything to know that are people that think I'm a little bit awesome, even if I don't see it anymore.

I promise I will try to be less annoying and 15 year-old girl like, and do something awesome by the end of this month that is worth blogging about. That is my promise to the rest of the BEDA-ers.

ALSO! I made this!!
I am very proud of it. :)
AND THAT IS THE END OF THE STORY
Today is awesome for the same reason yesterday was awesome, except there is a new video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dyBiOBVnukc No singing in this one, but some pseudo-break dancing. Wizarding God I love this Improv troupe SO MUCH.

Remember in 6th grade when anything was possible?

Last week for Nerds to the Power of 5 we were giving the challenge to put the five of us in a band. Because of situations out of my control, mostly because people don't inform me of plans that they make for me, and then don't accept the fact that I want nothing to do with said plans, I was unable to make a video on Monday, or a make up video on Saturday.

Normally, I would just add last week to this week's topic, but I feel that I MAY talk to much about this week's topic, so I'm just going to blog the video I would have made last week.

When I was in sixth grade, two big things happened, first, Corey and Topanga broke up, and The Back Street Boy, N*Sync, The Spice Girls, and Hanson, hit it big. Because of the second thing, my best friends and I decided to start a band.

One of us played the flute and another played the clarinet if I remember right, they may have quit by this point, but I know they played then at one point, anyway I remember that we voted and decided that we would all be singers, several of the five of us were in chorus. We had a black notebook that we passed between the five of us that we wrote all our songs in, I think I still have it, but I'd have to really look for it. If I do it buried under years of school work and notebooks. I don't remember a lot of it, but I do distinctly remember that one us, Pheebs, wrote a song about boys and one of the lyrics was "Stick him with a fork."

We used to walk around at recess and thing up what would make good album covers and stuff. We were pretty convinced at we could do this, I have no idea why, I just remember thinking that five girls from the Shire, with little to know musical experience could make a band, this was of course before the days of American Idol.

One day we just stopped trying to be a band. I don't know if it was because the school year ended or because we just lost interest. But I remember spending a good chuck of our school days working on writing songs, we never, like, rehearsed or anything, but we wrote a whole bunch of songs.

As for our challenge this week, I would give us the following assignments:
I would put Megan in the front, lead vocals: of all of us, I think that Megan is the most outgoing of all of us. From her Tumblr, I've seen her style, and I really love it, and I think she would make a wonderful front to our band.

I would have Mary on lead guitar, because she plays guitar, and that's kind of one the main requirements to play lead guitar.

I would have Noelles on drums, I see Noelles are more of a background person, I don't mean this in a mean way, it's just that even in THES, she would be a background person, as the Narrator in the plays. Although this is basically the main part, like the drums, the focus isn't on her, but she's supporting the whole thing. I hope that makes sense.

Laura I would have on rhythm, mostly so that I can jam with her on bass. I don't know if Laura feels the same way, but I see Laura was one of my really good friends. I feel like I could have known her forever, even though we've never met and she lives on the opposite side of the continent in a different country.

As for a name, I'm super horrible at naming things. I feel that there would be a nerdy reference of some kind like Megan suggested, and I feel it should be mildly obscure. As for an exact name, I'm not really sure.

AND THAT IS THE END OF THE STORY
today is awesome, because tomorrow, is Tuesday.

The Music, a blog post

I love music, just like the next guy that you'll meet on the street. I listen to pretty much any kind of music, although I have to say that I don't listen to new popular music very often, only at clubs and in my friends cars; because of this I tend to find out about bands that have existed for years when they have five albums and I think that I've discovered this totally awesome new band and all my friends have already heard them, loved them, and moved on.

This blog, however, isn't about my awkardly random music collection, but the music that touches our lives. I have many a song that I can't listen to anymore because they bring up deep emotions that I don't want to think about, like Aerosmith's "I don't want to miss a thing."

This particular song sums up my entire middle school and high school life. Everytime I heard the opening notes of that song I see my 8th grade graduation dance everyone in my class crowded in a tight circle, while the 6th and 7th graders paired up to awkwardly slow dance or stared at us as we screamed the words at the top of our lungs. I also see my junior prom, the silver balloons, the streamers, doing that same middle school slow dance with one of my best friends. It's one of those songs that I just love, but the people and places it put in my head I don't want to see anymore. It's not that I don't want to remember high school or middle school, I just don't want to see that kid sitting on a bar stool across a resturant from me, who smiles and waves before I hide my face behind my menu so this random kid I knew in middle school doesn't come over and say hi, I don't want to think that less than four months later he was dead and I could have said "hi," and maybe I wouldn't feel so horrible now.

Most of the songs I can't listen to are songs that remind me of middle school, "I Hope You Dance," by Leanne Wolmack, that song that Faith Hill sings in Pearl Harbor, the song from Titanic. Late ninities power ballads mostly.

I have a lot of songs that in my Itunes that I recieved via a person that I'm no longer friends with, and I've thought about erasing them, because I don't want to think about the first time I ever heard a song, or a band or whatever. Most of this music is weird indie bands, so the "where did you find this?!?" conversation happens pretty often when listening to my music collection.

The song in this collection that means the most and sparks the most memories is "Screaming Infidelites" by Dashboard Confessional. I clearly remember driving up I 95 with the top down cranking this song and screaming at the top of lungs. I love this memory, and I'm not sure where it will end up in the "cherished memories" when I'm old, but now, at 23, being 19 and screaming emo songs as I rode in the passangers seat of my friends car, is pretty high up on that list.

I guess the point of this is to find out how music affects you. Are there songs you can't listen to? Are there songs you just LOVE? Do you always feel the need to get up and dance across a pretend stage when you hear "Johnny B Goode" (okay, that might be because of my love for Marty McFly, and not so much about the song, but the song strikes the memory)?

Let me know reader. (I want to come up with a name for my "readers." I feel weird saying readers when I know that two people actually read this.) Tell me about your life in music.

AND THAT IS THE END OF THE STORY
today is awesome because I went for a walk with my roommate.

I think I should blog now

Hey blog land.

April took a lot out of my wanting to blog, so not that it's 2 hours til June, I figure I should start blogging again.

My life at home if boring, I miss my college friends, but I do have things to look forward to starting next week. The Improv Troupe Stranger that Fiction (STF) starts up on the 9th. Google them, you'll love them.

For STF Georgie and I make a mixed tape (basically) for them because we've been going to the shows for like 6 years now and you can only listen to "Video killed the Radio star" three times in an hour every Tuesday so many times before you start re-thinking be a fan of this improv group. So every week we make our own mix, which is pretty awesome and the group like them.

I should mention that one of the members of this group was our English Teacher, which I think is why they put up with us telling them there taste in music is crap.

I have been put in charge of making the cd for the July 14th show. As you know this is the day before the release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. And Naturally, Georgie and I are going to the midnight release of said film, dressed the the nines as Luna Lovegood (Georgie) and Ginny Weasly (me). As far as I know, English Teacher will be sporting his Slytherin tie and there will be a could Hufflepuffs in the audience, as well as a lot of really confused old people wondering why half the audience is dressed like they attend a fictitious boarding school in the UK.

This CD must be all Wizard Rock, I mean what else could it be!?!?

This leads me to a dilemma. And that is wanting songs that are not available on Itunes, namely Fred, George and Myrtle, by Gred and Forge and the Moaning Myrtles. Why must this song only be available through a $60 monthly WRock EP from last year?? FML.

I have been putting a lot into a cd that no one is going to hear for like a month and a half. I don't put this much thought into like Christmas gifts.

That's kind of my life right now, I have to got to work early tomorrow, so I should probs go to bed.

and that is the end of the story

Today is awesome because hopefully one of you owns an MP3 of that song. And Really wants to share with me. :)
